Garage notes
Use the right tool within its limits.
Start with the vehicle handbook and the instructions for the tool. A general-purpose accessory does not replace the equipment or expertise required for a safety-critical repair.
Match the task
Check the tool's size, range and intended use before starting. Use tyre-pressure information specified for your vehicle, not a general number or the maximum printed on a tyre sidewall.
Choose a safe work area
Work only where the vehicle can be secured and the task can be performed safely. Never work under an unsupported vehicle, and leave tasks beyond your equipment or experience to a qualified professional.
Inspect and store
Check tools for damage before use, keep them clean and dry and follow any calibration or battery-care requirements. A damaged tool or unreliable reading is a reason to stop and verify, not continue.
